KOMPAS – VinFast showcased its two new electric models, the Limo Green and Minio Green, at the GAIKINDO Jakarta Auto Week (GJAW) 2025 automotive exhibition held at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) BSD (Bumi Serpong Damai) City, Tangerang (Banten). Both models are part of the Vietnamese company’s strategy to expand its electric vehicle portfolio in Indonesia.

The Limo Green attracted greater attention as it appeared in an early-release exclusive preview, a limited pre-launch session ahead of its global debut in March 2026. VinFast chose Indonesia as the first country to see this model, underscoring the company’s strong prioritization of the local market. In Vietnam, the model has already recorded more than 6,500 deliveries within three months, placing it at the top of its segment.

VinFast Indonesia stated that the decision to bring the Limo Green ahead of schedule reflects a direct approach to local consumers. The strong response in Vietnam encouraged VinFast to introduce it earlier in Indonesia. The model is positioned to strengthen the company’s presence in the compact electric vehicle segment, with a focus on efficiency and low operating costs.

The Minio Green, also displayed at GJAW 2025, has sparked speculation about the potential entry of the small electric city car into Indonesia. The model measures 3,090 mm in length, 1,496 mm in width, and 1,625 mm in height—making it suitable for urban mobility. It is powered by a 20 kW electric motor (around 26 hp) with 65 Nm of torque, paired with a 15.2 kWh battery that is claimed to deliver up to 170 km per charge.

The Minio Green supports DC fast charging up to 12 kW and AC charging at 3.3 kW. In Vietnam, the Minio Green is priced at around 269 million dong, or approximately Rp170 million based on the applicable exchange rate. VinFast also offers incentives such as free charging at V-Green stations until mid-2027 and exemption from certain pre-registration taxes for eligible electric vehicles.

VinFast also displayed the VF Wild Concept, a double-cabin vehicle designed for challenging off-road terrain. The model remains in the concept stage but is positioned as part of the brand’s expansion into high-performance electric vehicles. The presence of the VF Wild Concept further indicates VinFast’s intent to enter multiple segments at once.

The company also used GJAW 2025 to present its long-term plans in Indonesia, including the development of a production facility in Subang and the expansion of its after-sales service network. These initiatives are aimed at supporting more sustainable adoption of electric vehicles in the country.

VinFast emphasized that the name “Limo Green” is not final and will be adapted for the Indonesian market. The company invites GJAW visitors to participate in the naming process, aiming to strengthen its connection with local consumers. This step is part of the strategy to create products that resonate with Indonesian users.

With its aggressive strategy, the debut of the Limo Green, Minio Green, and VF Wild Concept marks a new phase in Indonesia’s electric vehicle competition. If the market response mirrors that of Vietnam, VinFast has the potential to solidify its position in the compact EV segment in the near future. (*) (*)
