DETIK – Polytron joined the growing national electric vehicle market throughout 2025. As of November 2025, Polytron recorded Wholesales sales of 286 electric cars. Wholesales refers to vehicle distribution from the factory to dealers.
The company currently markets two models, the G3 and G3+. Both are developed through a partnership with Skyworth and compete in the electric Sport Utility Vehicle segment. Polytron officially introduced the G3 and G3+ to the Indonesian market in May 2025.
Actual Wholesales distribution only began in July 2025, resulting in relatively limited annual volume. Of the total distribution, the G3 contributed the largest share with 170 units. The remaining volume came from the G3+, which is positioned as the higher-specification variant.
Cumulatively, this performance has not yet placed Polytron among the top ten best-selling electric vehicle brands nationally. However, its monthly performance indicates competitive traction amid an increasingly crowded market. This suggests early acceptance despite late-year distribution.
In November 2025 alone, Polytron sold 81 units. This figure exceeded sales posted by several other electric vehicle brands, including Neta, Toyota, Mitsubishi Motors, Morris Garage, Maxus, and VinFast. The result highlights Polytron’s relative strength in monthly sales.
Indonesia’s electric vehicle market continues to expand. From January to November 2025, electric vehicle sales reached 82,525 units out of total national vehicle sales of 710,084 units. The market remained dominated by BYD with distribution of 40,151 units.
BYD’s premium sub-brand, Denza, recorded 7,176 units. It was followed by Chery with sales of 7,065 units. These brands continue to shape competition in the electric vehicle segment.
Polytron assembles the G3 and G3+ at the facility of PT Handal Indonesia Motor in Purwakarta, West Java. Production currently uses a Semi Knocked Down scheme, meaning vehicles are assembled locally from components that are partly imported.
From a technical standpoint, both variants offer a driving range of up to 402 kilometers based on the China Light-Duty Vehicle Test Cycle. This testing method is a vehicle efficiency standard used in China. The top speed is rated at 150 kilometers per hour.
Acceleration from zero to 100 kilometers per hour is achieved in 9.6 seconds. Power is supplied by a Lithium Ferro Phosphate battery with a capacity of 51.916 kilowatt-hours. This battery type is known for durability and thermal stability.
The electric motor delivers 150 kilowatts of power and 320 Newton-meters of torque. These figures reflect typical electric vehicle characteristics, including instant acceleration response. Overall performance aligns with mainstream electric SUV standards.
In terms of pricing, Polytron offers both battery subscription and battery purchase options. Under the subscription scheme, the Polytron G3 is priced at IDR 299 million and the G3+ at IDR 339 million. The monthly battery subscription fee is set at IDR 1.2 million.
For customers opting to purchase the vehicle with the battery included, the Polytron G3 is priced at IDR 419 million. The G3+ is offered at IDR 459 million. This approach provides flexibility for consumers in managing upfront ownership costs. (*)
