INKAM – PT Suzuki Indomobil Sales (SIS) recorded sales of more than 1,000 vehicle units in Makassar (South Sulawesi) from January to September 2025. This achievement strengthened Suzuki’s position in the South Sulawesi automotive market, especially in the commercial and passenger vehicle segments.
Makassar is known as a logistics and trade center in Eastern Indonesia. This condition makes it an important market for Suzuki, particularly because of the large number of commercial vehicle users and the growing public awareness of fuel efficiency.
Head of Sales 4W at PT Suzuki Indomobil Sales, Rendy Anggadiputra, said that sales trends in Makassar show a change in consumer behavior. According to him, people are now looking for vehicles that are efficient, environmentally friendly, and support daily economic activities.
The New Carry model became the backbone of Suzuki’s sales in the commercial vehicle segment with a contribution of 56 percent. The model’s advantages lie in fuel efficiency, large cargo capacity, and low maintenance costs. These factors make the New Carry the main choice for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the region.
In the passenger vehicle segment, hybrid technology models became the main driver of growth. Their contribution reached 65 percent of total passenger vehicle sales. Two models, the New XL7 Hybrid and Fronx, became favorites among urban consumers who want modern and energy-efficient vehicles.
The increase in sales of hybrid models shows that Makassar residents are ready to transition to more environmentally friendly vehicle technology. This trend is a positive signal for the future of the automotive industry in Eastern Indonesia.
Suzuki’s performance in South Sulawesi is also supported by the official dealer network of PT Megahputra Sejahtera. The company is actively expanding its services and maintaining close relationships with customers through various exhibitions and promotional activities.
Suzuki also took part in the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) Makassar 2025, held at the Summarecon Mutiara Makassar Convention Center (SMMCC) from November 5–9, 2025. At the exhibition, Suzuki showcased three flagship products – Fronx, New XL7 Hybrid Kuro, and Jimny 5-door – complete with test drive facilities.
General Manager of PT Megahputra Sejahtera, Yesaya Roberto, said that GIIAS Makassar is an important moment to strengthen relationships with customers. The high demand for passenger and commercial vehicles proves that the automotive market in South Sulawesi remains healthy and has strong growth potential. (*)
