DETIK – Isuzu Motors Limited targets net sales of six trillion yen, or around Rp 600 trillion, in the 2031 fiscal year. The Japanese commercial vehicle manufacturer also aims for an operating income ratio above 10 percent.
This target is part of a long-term plan titled Isuzu Transformation – Growth to 2030 (IX). Isuzu aims to transform from a commercial vehicle manufacturer into a company that provides a range of transportation services and solutions for users. The main focus is directed toward three areas – the development of autonomous driving technology, connected services, and the achievement of carbon neutrality.
General Manager of the Regional Management Office, International Sales Division of Isuzu Motors Limited, Makoto Goto, revealed that this major target requires a new business model and additional investment through 2030. Goto will strengthen after-sales service aspects and change the sales approach to meet global market needs.
Goto emphasized that Indonesia is a key market in the company’s five-year growth plan. The country serves as the main production base for both domestic and export markets. Indonesia’s contribution is said to reach nearly 50 percent of Isuzu’s total commercial vehicle sales in the Southeast Asia (ASEAN) region.
Indonesia has also served as the export hub for the Isuzu TRAGA since 2019. To date, more than 32 thousand vehicles have been shipped to ten countries in Central America and Africa. This performance strengthens Indonesia’s position as an important part of Isuzu’s global supply chain.
Isuzu is also preparing new products tailored to local needs in Indonesia. The agricultural and public service sectors are considered to have great potential to drive the future growth of the commercial vehicle business.
At the national level, PT Isuzu Astra Motor Indonesia (IAMI), as the brand holder, reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Isuzu’s global strategy. President Director of PT IAMI, Masayasu Hideshima, said that the company strives to provide the best products and after-sales services to strengthen Indonesia’s position as Isuzu’s strategic partner in ASEAN.
Through the IX transformation strategy, Isuzu is not only developing vehicles but also building an efficient, safe, and sustainable transportation ecosystem. Isuzu focuses on developing connected digital services and low-carbon fuel technologies. (*)
