GAIKINDO — PT Astra Daihatsu Motor (ADM) has strengthened its contribution in the field of vocational education through the Sustainovation Dojo initiative at Astratech. This step was taken to face an industrial era that demands rapid adaptation and high competence. The program serves as Daihatsu’s strategic move to prepare Indonesia’s young generation for the challenges of the modern workforce with a spirit of sustainability.
Sustainovation Dojo is a practice-based learning center (learning by doing) that emphasizes three main pillars: sustainability, productivity, and work ethics. Through this approach, students are equipped with automotive technical skills that meet industry standards. They are also trained to think innovatively and act responsibly toward the environment.
Daihatsu believes that sustainability and innovation must go hand in hand due to the ever-evolving needs of the industry. Therefore, Sustainovation Dojo was established as an important bridge to develop high-quality human resources (HR) through the “Generasi Siap+” concept — a generation that is industry-ready, productive, has strong character, and cares about a sustainable future.
This initiative is a continuation of Daihatsu’s commitment to supporting national vocational education through the “Pintar Bersama Daihatsu” program, which has been running since 2010. For more than a decade, Daihatsu has consistently bridged the gap between education and the automotive industry through curriculum development, training facilities, and donations of vehicle units and automotive components for student practice.
As part of its tangible support, Daihatsu handed over 10 transmission units and one Daihatsu Ayla unit to Astratech to support learning activities at Sustainovation Dojo. This facility has now become one of the main training grounds for students to apply theory into innovative solutions that can be implemented in the workplace.
Through various educational development programs like this, Daihatsu hopes to foster a collaborative learning ecosystem between industry and academia. The company also aims to support Indonesia’s vision of developing excellent and globally competitive human resources. (*)
