KOMPAS – BYD’s sales surged in October 2025, with the BYD Atto 1 posting 9,396 units sold. This achievement made it the best-selling model nationwide in the wholesale data reported by the Association of Indonesian Automotive Industries (GAIKINDO). The figure pushed aside the Toyota Kijang Innova, which had topped the charts the previous month.
Its performance was driven by pricing strategies that placed both variants between Rp195 million and Rp235 million, targeting the mass-market segment. BYD reported that 88 percent of its October deliveries came from the Atto 1, making the model the main pillar of the brand’s sales volume. The trend indicates that consumer demand is concentrated on a single model offering a compelling mix of price, features, and operating efficiency.
The Atto 1 is available with two battery capacities—30.08 kWh and 38.88 kWh. These options provide an estimated driving range of 300 to 380 kilometers. Equipped with DC fast charging, the vehicle can recharge from 30 percent to 80 percent in about 30 minutes using high-power direct-current charging.
The Atto 1 delivers 55 kW of power and 135 Nm of torque. It accelerates from 0 to 50 km per hour in around 4.9 seconds, with a top speed of 130 km per hour. These specifications position it within the urban electric vehicle category, emphasizing operational efficiency.
GAIKINDO recorded a shift in the ranking of monthly best-sellers. The Innova posted 4,913 units in October, down from 6,143 units in September. The decline highlights shifting demand toward more affordable electric models. (*) (*)
