10 Percent Tax Discount Applies at GIIAS Bandung 2025

GAIKINDO – The automotive exhibition GAIKINDO Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) Bandung 2025 officially opened on October 1, 2025, at the Sudirman Grand Ballroom. The opening was attended by West Java Deputy Governor Erwan Setiawan, who announced an incentive in the form of a 10 percent discount on the principal Motor Vehicle Transfer Fee (BBNKB).

BBNKB I is a tax imposed on the purchase of a new vehicle or when the ownership name is transferred for the first time. This incentive applies to all West Java residents who purchase vehicles at this event. With the discount, the cost of new vehicles becomes lighter for consumers, boosting people’s purchasing power, while at the same time encouraging automotive market absorption in West Java.

The opening of GIIAS Bandung 2025 took place three weeks after the GAIKINDO General Assembly (RUA) in Jakarta on September 10, 2025. The RUA appointed the new board for the 2025–2028 period. Putu Juli Ardika was elected as chairman, while Anton Kumonty was entrusted as executive chairman. The new structure also added a position focused on ecosystem development, emphasizing GAIKINDO’s role in staying closer to the needs of the industry and stakeholders.

The presence of the new board at GIIAS Bandung 2025 adds further context to the collaboration between the association, government, and industry players. West Java, according to the Director General of Metal, Machinery, Transportation Equipment, and Electronics (ILMATE), Setia Diarta, is one of the strategic regions for national automotive growth. With this regional incentive, GIIAS Bandung 2025 is not just an exhibition, but also a driver of the market and a way to expand public access to new vehicles.

This year, GIIAS Bandung 2025 presents 18 automotive brands, including five making their debut in Bandung: BAIC, Jaecoo, Jeep, Seres, and DFSK for commercial vehicles. Sponsorship support from Astra Financial, PLN Mobile, and other partners also strengthens the event’s implementation.

At GIIAS Bandung 2025, GAIKINDO’s new management affirmed the association’s role as a bridge between industry players, government, and the public. Through this exhibition, GAIKINDO is not only driving the growth of the automotive market in West Java, but also ensuring that government policies can be directly felt by consumers. (*)
